As we created our business plan and goals for 2018, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on 2017. We launched Milwaukee Beer Gear in September 2017 and have been thrilled with the positive feedback from the Milwaukee community over the last three months. A few highlights we wanted to share:
Product Launches
We launched Milwaukee Beer Gear with four neighborhoods: Historic Third Ward, Walker’s Point, Lower East Side and Brewer’s Hill. In November we added Bay View and Wauwatosa neighborhoods as well as our Wisconsin Beer Ingredient coasters – Barley, Yeast, Water and Wheat.
Makers Community
The local Milwaukee makers community has been exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. From providing advice on the type of wood that would sell best to offering space to create and local partnerships, we couldn’t ask for a better community to be a part of.
Local Shops
Our coasters landed in LocalMKE just weeks after we launched and shortly after, Milwaukee Beer Gear products could be found at Milwaukee Home, Cream City Restoration, Studio Barcelona and Hyde Park. We love working with local Milwaukee shops and are excited to develop these partnerships even further in 2018.
Pop-Ups
We were lucky to be included in two holiday pop-ups in December where we got to not only sell our coasters in person but meet other Milwaukee makers who inspire us to be better every day.
Looking Ahead to 2018
We are already making moves in 2018 and the fun isn’t stopping anytime soon. A few exciting announcements:
- You can now find our coasters at Waxwing on the east side
- Our Riverwest neighborhood coaster will be launching soon
- We are working with The People’s Flag of Milwaukee on a special project
- Watch out for more partnerships and giveaways on our Instagram
- We are hard at work on our newest product line – pint glasses!
Thanks to all who have contributed to Milwaukee Beer Gear in some shape or form. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Cheers!
Amanda and Zach
